World Students Day

Students are our future. It may seem like a cliché, but it is true. To keep this future strong, we must make sure that everyone has the same opportunities to succeed. World Students Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, a late aerospace scientist, teacher, and former President. Kalam’s efforts in supporting students and education are celebrated every year in India on this occasion. Students’ day is celebrated on the anniversary of Kalam’s birthday.

He was born in Rameswaram, India, on 15th October 1931 as Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. It was on 18th July 2002 that he was elected the 11th President of the Republic of India.

World Students’ Day 2022 Theme

The World Students’ Day celebrations are always centred around a unique theme announced annually. On this day, schools, government offices, and private sector facilities organize events, campaigns, and discussions in honour of this important annual event. There is no word yet on the theme for World Students’ Day 2022, but it will be revealed soon.

Significance of Students’ Day

World Students’ Day is an important educational event in addition to commemorating the birthday of the former Indian President, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The importance of this day can also be attributed to the following reasons:

  • A strong emphasis is placed on education in this article.
  • In recognition of the Fundamental Right to Education, this day is observed.
  • In honour of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, it commemorates his brilliant work,

On this day, Kalam is remembered for his love of teaching students and the enthusiasm he brought to his work.

International students face many challenges, even though student life is difficult. These are a few examples of homesickness, cultural differences, foreign currencies, financial difficulties, and language barriers.

Unlike many local students, international students must overcome many other barriers besides focusing on their studies. Students from overseas do not have the luxury of going home to see their families and friends. The financial aid available to home students usually comes from loans and grants, which are not always available to international students.

How to Celebrate World Students’ Day?

It is widely celebrated across India on World Students’ Day. The day is celebrated by students with meaningful social responsibilities, campus gatherings, healthy competitions, fun games, food, games, and gossip. As part of Students’ Day celebrations, the following activities are typically held:

  • Speeches delivered in schools for World Students’ Day
  • APJ Abdul Kalam’s works should be brought to the attention of the public
  • Various competitions, such as debates, paintings, and essays

Student organizations are common on campus, where students volunteer for causes, participate in competitive events, eat food provided by student unions, and complain about student fees.

Even though these activities aren’t quite as elevated as those of the founders of World Students’ Day, they are still quite popular, attracting donations, attention, and involvement from many charities and organizations.

A fundraising event or awareness campaign for charities that assist students with learning difficulties could also be an option. Even though everyone should have the opportunity to receive an education, it is not that easy for many people. Various reasons make it more challenging for some people than others.

The education system may be unavailable to people with disabilities or those whose relationships hinder their success. Still, a person’s family life can be one of the biggest obstacles to success.

World Students’ Day might be a good time to think about how we might assist them in getting the education they have always desired. It would be greatly appreciated if you could assist many charities. Whether you donate money or your time, the choice is yours.

You might also want to take a few minutes out of your day to raise awareness about World Students’ Day. To help your friends, followers, and family get on board with this critical day, you can share some interesting information, facts, and figures with them on social media. Students worldwide will feel appreciated if everyone posts one message or does one activity to raise awareness, and we can assist them more effectively.

We should take this opportunity to tribute to the students worldwide on World Students’ Day. There are students from all over the world striving to achieve their career goals and make a difference. For a chance to study at a university that will provide a better life for their families, some students leave their families and travel far and wide. The fact that we should honour and celebrate this is worthy of honour.

Additionally, students from countries with low living costs and wages may have difficulty adapting financially to a new country with higher living costs and wages. It is important not to overload yourself when trying to get good grades. We should celebrate every student, especially those who have worked hard to continue their education, considering all that has been mentioned above.
